Brian Poulter

Founder & Chief Trial Counsel

Brian Poulter is the Founder and Chief Trial Counsel of Poulter & Co. Injury Lawyers, a California law firm dedicated exclusively to representing real people and real families with real injuries.

Born in El Paso, Texas, and raised in Port Neches, Texas, Brian grew up in a blue-collar family where hard work, accountability, and perseverance were not simply values—they were expectations. Those lessons continue to shape both his life and his approach to representing clients.

Brian graduated in the top 10% of his high school class before earning his Bachelor of Business Administration, with honors, from Texas State University. After working for a Fortune 100 company, he decided to pursue his lifelong goal of becoming a trial lawyer.

Following a standout first year of law school, where he finished near the top of his class, Brian transferred to Loyola Law School Los Angeles to focus on trial advocacy.

At Loyola, Brian earned a coveted spot on the nationally renowned Byrne Trial Advocacy Team and later served as Team Captain. There, he trained under some of the nation’s most accomplished trial lawyers and participated in more than 150 mock jury trials. His accomplishments included being named Top Gun, earning the American College of Trial Lawyers Medal for Excellence in Advocacy, winning the National Trial Competition Regional Championship, advancing to the National Elite Eight, and being recognized as one of the country’s top young trial advocates.

After law school, Brian trained and tried cases alongside some of the most respected plaintiff trial lawyers in the country at Panish, Shea & Boyle LLP. He handled complex catastrophic injury, wrongful death, product liability, and mass tort cases, including serving as a lead handling attorney in the Porter Ranch Gas Leak litigation, which ultimately resulted in a $1.8 billion settlement.

Over the course of his career, Brian has helped recover more than $150 million for injured clients through verdicts and settlements. He has secured multiple seven-figure results and earned a reputation for meticulous preparation, courtroom skill, and an unwavering commitment to the people he represents.

Brian’s work has been recognized by numerous legal organizations. He has been named a Southern California Super Lawyer, previously earned selection to the Super Lawyers Rising Stars list, and was included among the Up-And-Coming Top 100 attorneys in Southern California. He has also been recognized by Best Lawyers: Ones to Watch, the National Trial Lawyers Top 40 Under 40, and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum.

Most notably, Brian has been repeatedly recognized by his peers for his trial work, earning nominations from the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles for both Trial Lawyer of the Year and Rising Star Trial Lawyer of the Year, as well as a nomination from the Consumer Attorneys of California for the Street Fighter of the Year Award.

Today, Brian continues to represent seriously injured individuals throughout California while leading Poulter & Co. Injury Lawyers with a simple philosophy: every client deserves exceptional representation, personal attention, and a lawyer willing to take a case all the way to trial when justice demands it.
